American Tenor and Conductor Lynn G. Atkins embodies the artist/teacher model wholeheartedly. Currently serving as Choral Music Instructor at Pinelands Regional School District in Little Egg Harbor, NJ; he is currently celebrating 16 years of teaching choral music to students in secondary schools as well as institutions of Higher Learning.
Lynn has appeared as a tenor soloist with a number of musical organizations including Princeton Pro Musica, Central Virginia Masterworks Chorale, Swarthmore Chorale (PA) and the Petersburg Symphony. He has been privileged to sing in choral ensembles for singers such as Sarah Brightman, Linda Eder, Denyce Graves, Patti LaBelle, and Aurelia Williams, among others.
Lynn has held the honor of serving as music director and conductor of several community and sacred music organizations including One Voice Chorus Richmond (2013-2019), the James River Ringers (2017-2019), Elkton United Methodist Church (2008-2013) the Treble Chamber Choir of James Madison University (2008-2010), as well as guest conductor for several County and District Level Honor choir programs.
Atkins earned his Bachelors of Music Degree in Music Education in 2004 from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. In 2012 Dr. Atkins is a proud member of the first cohort to receive the dual Masters of Music/Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Choral Conducting Performance and Pedagogy from James Madison University.
